Travel between OR Tambo International Airport and Sandton, non-stop. on board Gautrain's dedicated airport service. No more congested traffic. Arrive relaxed!
With a direct connection and no stops in between, all air passengers must travel to and from OR Tambo International Airport to the Sandton Station. From there passengers can transfer to any of the commuter services to other stations on the north-south or east-west lines of the Gautrain network.
Communication between the Gautrain system and OR Tambo International Airport ensures that up to date flight information is available to Gautrain passengers.
Peak Period departures are every 12 minutes between 05:00 to 08:30 and 16:00 to 19:00
Sandton Station is situated beneath Rivonia Road - between West Street and Fifth Avenue. It borders the Sandton Library and Nelson Mandela Square.
From Sandton Station you can also head straight to Pretoria Central and Pretoria Hatfield Station, cutting out the time consuming hassle of attempting to use the freeway.
Since OR Tambo International Airport Station revolves around air passengers and people working at the airport, it is located underneath the airport terminal complex.
It's integration with the terminal building includes appropriate signage to direct passengers to and from the station.
As a result of increasing traffic and parking demand at the airport precinct and the parking tariffs at parking facilities at the OR Tambo International Airport, rail passengers to and from Ekurhuleni should use the Rhodesfield Station.
Rhodesfield Station is also better integrated with the other Gautrain stations with transfer options at both Marlboro Station and Sandton Station and is therefore better suited for commuter type passengers.
